Our experiments with viral marketing and social media technologies began in early 2009. Cautious at first, we carefully established an online profile that was both engaging and professional, and expanded our presence across Twitter and Facebook. We eventually added an RSS Feed, a YouTube account and recently launched an experimental iPhone app. The combined efforts of our modern media marketing in 2009 played a large role in our 33+% increase in overall site traffic. The ExchangeHJ Facebook page, Twitter account, and RSS Feeds broadcast our Quick Updates to over 2,000 people that have voluntarily elected to receive our updates. Through these mediums we promote new media, upcoming show appearances, show results, changes to listing details, and more. The ExchangeHJ YouTube page satisfies Buyers that choose to search YouTube for sale horses, and comes with built-in marketing tools that allow for easy video sharing. The ExchangeHJ iPhone App serves our YouTube page, RSS Feed & Twitter updates, and is available freely to anyone with an iPhone. Combined social media efforts in 2009 (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Blog and various online forums) directed 7,390 visitors to ExchangeHunterJumper.com. Statistics show these visitors averaged 6 page views while on our web site, which means they are visiting multiple horses while in attendance. A total of 44,000 additional page views were logged on ExchangeHJ.com from social media efforts in 2009. |
