Handsome first show pony with plenty of style for a winning start in either Short Stirrup or rated Pony divisions. Great all-around kids type with a versatile background that includes wins to 4th Level dressage and Champion Tricolors in Combined Driving. Proving he can do anything, this former pony stud has been collecting Tricolors in the Green Pony, Medium Pony, Childrens Pony, and Short Stirrup divisions since his career change in 2008. He is qualified for 2010 Pony Finals in both the Green and Medium Pony divisions.
"Audi" has a forever home with his current owners and is available for lease only. He is a beautiful mover with daisy-cutter style that's very hard to beat under saddle. Audi jumps cute and correct but is easy for small children to stay with. He is honest, smart, forgiving, and always chooses the safe distance. He has auto-changes and a great rhythm with plenty of step for the division lines. Audi has no peek to the jumps and rarely needs a lunge. At home he enjoys lots of turnout and very little tuning. Audi is the same easy and reliable pony no matter the day or the division.
As a 5 year old Audi scored an 8.4 on performance and was Site Champion for the American Sport Pony Society Inspection. In 2006 he competed to Fourth Level Dressage receiving solid scores in the 60s. During this time Audi also stood as a successful pony stallion and was prized for passing on his great mind. In 2008 Audi was gelded so he could enjoy the partnership of a child in the show ring, and has been consistently successful at this job ever since. He is always calm and safe, and described as "very zen" by his owners. His availability for lease is a great opportunity for riders to get a solid, safe, and competitive year of show experience at an affordable price.
Around the interwebz:
Here's what we found mentioned about Audi around the internet!
- From Southern California trainer Tommi Clark:
"He’s pretty much the easiest pony I’ve ever had," she said. "He’s done fourth level dressage. Jumping came naturally. They gelded him two months before we got him and he has babies on the ground. We have one of his babies in the barn. He put his brains on his babies. He’s won every under saddle. Any kid can get on him. One of my little kids showed him in walk, trot, and canter classes and she never competed at that level of competition." (Source: LEG Press Release)
- From a forum poster commenting on quality Welsh Stallions:
"My favorite stallion is by far this guy, Cardiff Private Affair "Audi" . . . he has one of the best minds I've ever seen in a stallion, and his babies all inherit his personality . . . I got the privilege to train one of his first babies in harness. She was, just amazing. I've never had a pony or horse that was easier to train than she was."
