Lineage Notes:

Gordo’s sire, Alotta Flash, is also owned by the seller. Alotta Flash is a grey Oldenburg stallion by Alpenstern. He was training for Young Riders and showing exceptional talent when a tragic stable accident ended his jumping career. His sire, Alpenstern, is a stunning chestnut with four white socks that is known for producing flashy movers that excel in the hunter ring. Alpenstern is GOV approved. He was imported from Germany and stands at Island Farm in Ocala.

Alotta Flash’s dam-sire is the legendary Abdullah. Ridden by Debbie Shaffner, Joe Fargis and Conrad Homfeld, Abdullah was one of the greatest showjumpers of all time. He earned Team Gold & Individual Silver for the US at both the 1984 Olympics and the 1986 World Championships, and won the 1985 World Cup in Berlin; all of which was after a successful eventing career. Abdullah sadly passed in 2000 from complications following colic surgery, but lives on through many successful offspring that have earned multiple USEF HOTY titles and can be found internationally in the Olympics, World Championships and World Cup Finals. In 2009, Abdullah was named to the Show Jumping Hall of Fame.

Gordo’s dam, Private Lady, is a large, fancy dressage mare. She is by Privateer and out of a Wildfeuer mare. Her sire was the top Westphalen in USDF at 3rd level in ’01, and thirteenth overall in the country. Private Lady was a USDF qualifier at three years old, the top score of her inspection with 103 points, and is a niece to the Olympic Gold Medalist, Rembrandt.
