description:
Seasoned veteran for move up to Equitation & Jumper rings. Competed to 1.30m in Germany and has done some low Prixs in the states. Last year he qualified rider for MHSA Hunt Seat Final, MHSA Gittings Horsemanship FInal, and the Tad Coffin Equitation Final. He also has WIHS Medal wins and WIHS Childrens Jumper Classic wins. "Sky" is an honest and brave jumper that loves to play teacher and has plenty of scope to take a rider from 3' to 3'6" Medals, or from Ch/AAs to Low Junior Jumpers.
"Sky" is uphill and eye-catching with a big, comfortable step. His natural balance, easy frame and smooth gaits show off an equitation rider well, and he is appropriately schooled in the upper levels of flatwork. Sky can step in as a legitimate partner for the Big Eq or pack around the lower levels with a novice. He knows when to help out and is very good at taking a joke. Sky is all business in the show ring, bravely jumps everything, and needs no prep. He responds well to the aids and is not picky about his rider, but he is also a quiet horse that goes best with a bit of leg.
Sky's a perfect gentleman on the ground and can be tacked, groomed, led, turned out, etc. by small children without issue. He's a laid-back character that keeps fit with 4-5 rides a week and daily turnout. He does not need professional schooling with any regularity, and is simple enough for a jr/am to properly maintain. Sky is great with the timid ones and ready to shine when they are. He offers young novices the opportunity of a long term equine partnership to move up with.
