Great teacher for new show riders and competitive from 2'6" - 3'6". Has a history of Tricolors from Childrens and Adult Amateur Hunters to Regular Workings, plus several THIS Medal wins and top Hunter Classic placings. Handsome, steady and quiet for the jr/am that desires an experienced partner to learn from.
"Darby" has a big, slow step and a smooth, even jump. He's comfortable to ride and easy to stay with over fences even at 3'6". He is a correct jumper with a stylish front end and good use of his head and neck. Darby is well-broke with auto-changes, counter-canter, and basic dressage schooling. He has a good sense of humor, a forgiving demeanor, and is happy jumping from any distance. He is a simple and reliable ride for novice competitors plus has the scope and education for a fun ride at the upper levels.
Darby currently lives at home, keeps fit, and receives very little tuning. He is very quiet and laid-back with a "been there, done that" outlook on life. He meets his trainer at shows, gets very little prep or lunge, doesn't require a pro round, and consistently wins in the Childrens/Adult classes. Darby also has plenty of step and scope and is a great teacher for the additional step up to 3'6" Hunters & Eq. He is a good-mannered show veteran that offers a solid and competitive start on the rated circuits.
